Who I am in a nutshell: "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success." **Ralph Waldo Emerson**

Ridicuolous yet not suprising
This next link is something that is just another angle on how petty, ridiculous, and simply put irritatingly maddening people can be. Perhaps sitting the children in the middle of the road would create more peaceful enjoyment for these people! Jeezus!

Another twist on logic of people
Is it wrong to call your loved ones so they aren't sitting at home worrying?
I get that football players should be focused on their games but if it were my husband out there getting beat to a pulp and he has a high incidence of concussions you can bet that I would want to know if he were ok. And where was the foul in this man loving his wife so much that he thinks to give her a courtesy call like that? I commend him for this while the NFL punishes him. Another twisted story of logic if you ask me.
Who knows, maybe him and his wife have been discussing him quitting the game because of these very dangerous injuries...maybe he has kids and worries about being around for them....maybe it might just scare him enough to reach out to the woman in his life for some comfort and peace of mind....seriously...it was a short phone call...where is the crime?
I get that using a cellphone to make some phone call to gloat about a sweet play just to upset the other team is unwarranted but this?

Felony for one and sympathy for the drunks? Ummm, you decide
Ok, granted the guy should have stopped beating these women with the metal bar--most definitely-- but was he not practicing self defense to some extent? Did these woman physically attack him first because he was doing his job asking about some suspicious money they handed him? Maybe to some degree he felt threatened...who knows when someone is going to pull a weapon...not to mention drunk people to boot.
And the best part is how the reporter is so nonchalant about what these women are doing and then suddenly disgustingly describes what this guy did as gruesome.
And just an FYI, I don't condone what this guy did but at the same time...there is some level of wrong in how lopsided this story is.

Yeah, still procrastinating..
Woman Has World's Largest Breast Implants Removed
This is very confusing to me, but then again, it doesn't take much to confuse me. But seriously, WHY??? Why would a woman do this to herself and to the point of life threatening illness?
Personally I wouldn't alter my own body not only because its expensive but if it's not a medical necessity I believe in accepting what has been given to me and to live with it. But that's really beside the point. This woman said she's 'addicted' to this? If I can't see my own feet I think I might start to think there was an issue with myself. If I had to get my shirts and bras special ordered to accommodate my drastically unnaturally growing chest I might think something wasn't right. I mean, imagine how much a bra would cost? They're already expensive enough but for a 38KKK????
And upon a bit of research it seems this is not an isolated procedure but what seems to be some kind of a contest for the Guinness Book? It's really very interesting what lengths people will go to just to make a name for themselves...sad too!

She is only 9!
“You can't blame the locals; they have never seen such women. Foreign tourists must maintain a certain degree of modesty in their clothing. Walking on the beaches half-naked is bound to titillate the senses,” New Delhi's Mail Today newspaper quoted Pamela Mascarhenas, Goa's deputy director of tourism, as saying Friday.A few weeks ago, wasn't it this same country that I wrote about rape being treated differently after midnight? This story is only one of a few that I discovered while clicking on links to read tonight...if a person goes to the side bar of this story or down below I'm sure they would find many other related stories....are these inflated? Are these in fact over-exaggerated? From what I'm getting out of these few articles I've read, it appears that those committee members or whoever the hell they are believe that more skin = license to rape!
RAPE IS RAPE and the rape of a little child is inexcusable!!!!!! I don't give two shits if this little girl was wearing a skimpy little string bikini! Two men, in their 30's thought enough about this for one of them to distract the little girls mom while the other proceeded to rape this little girl....is this for real or is this just some instance of conspiracy, one of the stories I linked says a doctor confirmed this is rape....is it or is it not...if this isn't true it would certainly be great to point this out to the world.
People have their beliefs, people have their cultures, people have a certain respect for modesty and dignity. It's because I live in this free country that reading something like this upsets me so much--perhaps its because of what I discovered in my research...there are some places in Goa where women are topless on the beaches. But in other things I've read, it seems that tourists are the only ones who are topless or who dare to go topless.
India is a very conservative place...Kudos to them BUT that is NO excuse to rape any woman or child and it certainly shouldn't be a reason to give when men can't control themselves. Nor is it a reason to use if a body of a girl is found mutilated or a woman is out after midnight!
All types of men are capable of going to our beaches and controlling themselves aren't they? Hell, they go to topless or nude beaches and are able to control themselves aren't they and really, in Minnesota there doesn't seem to be many nude beaches around but I would bet the men I know wouldn't assume it's ok to rape a woman who's exposing herself to the world! They know the difference between right and wrong;
I don't know, I guess I would have to look up the stats but raping a 9-year-old little girl? Wow....of course once again this article says the rape case has been blown out of proportion....what is the real story, did the little girl lay back and ask the two arrested to do her? Did mama tell these men to set this up? I would dearly love to hear that this is a farce.....

She asked for it, she dared to be out after midnight
Isn't rape, rape no matter how you look at it? The guy, Shantaram Naik, is no one I have ever heard of or who has really been of any interest to me until I read this completely over the top article. Or more appropriately, this idea! It's not in America thank goodness ... these other countries though? There are really some twisted things that go on in this world!

Nothing like putting salt in the wounds....
All these questions yet no real solid answers until this trial begins. One can only hope the worries of ALL those people I've read about in the news will be for nothing. My heart goes out to those in NY who have to deal with this, what a damn slap in the face not to mention one of the most idiotic ideas I have seen so far!

Play Rangers, the new 'parent'
Is the UK a stomping ground for pedophiles? Are all parents a danger to other people's children? This is absolutely insane and infuriating! Seriously, why don't these citizens of this really messed up place just have kids and turn them over to the 'play-rangers' since they are more qualified it seems than the parents. Instead of allowing people to just have kids maybe instead of conducting a criminal check on them AFTER those kids are born they should do so BEFORE that child is conceived to make sure they aren't going to rape them.
I understand looking out for the kids but ... REALLY?????
Hmmm.....wonder when the great old US of A is going to start doing this.....

Can things be any more outrageous?

Dallas woman fuming over smoking neighbor at complex
I suppose the woman and her daughter could have the privilege of purchasing the townhome and making it their own smoke free environment. I suppose the she could have the privilege of choosing another place to live knowing FULL well the complex was not a smoke free environment. I suppose that perhaps she chose to live here so in the future she could sue someone and make a few extra dollars.
No matter, this woman will now say she is forever disabled because of a smoker. People and their judgments and accusations about smoking get more crap in their lungs walking along a street where cars drive by, but no matter, it's because of us evil smokers that everyone is going to die someday! Holy S*#@!!! But hey, where can I get me one of these masks, would love to have one, they are so stylish...oh, is owning one of these a privilege too??? I better find out.

NY, NY, NEEEEWWWW YORKKKKKKKKK!!!!
I used to wanna go visit NY but I must say, the more I read about their crazy ideas that eventually spread all over our 'FREE' country, the more I see them as the culprit to all the freedoms being ripped away from us....I have some choice words but will refrain.

Punishment for the beasts and the bus driver too!!!!
One commenter pointed out that if the victim had been a black or homosexual, this would have been called a hate crime. Any thoughts on that????? I tend to agree with that because people believe that anything against an African American or a homosexual is in fact an automatic hate crime and those who attacked should be charged with the works. I don't care what the reason was but I do think that people have issues with violence that aren't always due to another persons race or gender preferences. If a person is a homophobe then charge them that way, if a person is a racist than charge them that way but if a person is just a jerk who can't control some insane urge because they find some sick twisted pleasure in beating others then it is what it is...don't label everything against a black man/woman or homosexual a friggin' hate crime. Otherwise I may just have to start screamning 'HATE CRIME' when I see something like this!!!!! Waaaah!
Little BRATS!!!! Hope they get what's coming to 'em. (if the victim provoked this, he should be punished as well, don't get me wrong here) Of course in the past the blacks were treated this very way so I can't completely go off on this at a racial slant because back then it was wrong too...it's irritating no matter what race a person is when others decide they 'just don't want to sit next to another'. One commentor stated that the victim is a nerd....what the hell does that have to do with anything?????
And where is the bus driver??? I hear him yelling but what is he doing continuing to drive after that first attack? Are they directed to just yell and keep driving in this sort of situation???????
My kids have come home with some stories of their bus rides to and from school. They've been in shouting matches, name calling, threats...all sorts of things. The most the bus driver has done is tell the kids to shut-up or have them change seats! Our kids have been told that if there is any problems on the bus, they are to come to us and we will take care of them, the problem, and the non-responsive bus driver. Fun times! It's not easy putting any one of them on that bus every morning, kids in this area are getting worse every year.
The respect factor in this country is crap!!! The adults are no better when they encourage their kids to bully and be little shits! I have witnessed parents doing this and cannot believe my ears yet they are the first people who demand respect and claim innocence when their kids are the ones getting into trouble. Double standards ..... wow.
Change needs to start with the adults because the children of this world are out of control!!!

This just really upsets me
While life has been super busy around here, I do try to keep up a bit with this and that. I can tell you this, had I not been so busy I would have written about all this crap quite awhile ago! I find it offensive, disgusting, degrading, and absolutely unacceptable the way people act in this country towards women, towards men, towards children, towards each other. Freedom of speech is one thing but to insult and throw around such distasteful accusations and to conveniently forget that people are human is something that I have no patience for! This woman sums up something on my mind quite nicely. Great article, I thought I would share.
h/t: Fox NewsANDREA TANTAROS: The Latest Media Blood Sport — Attacking Conservative Women
By Andrea Tantaros
Republican Political Commentator/FOXNews.com ContributorA growing trend seems to be emerging. From Perez Hilton to Playboy’s “Conservative Women Hate List” to David Letterman’s lewd comments about Sarah Palin, it appears that attacking women – specifically conservative women – is not only all the rage, but oddly, acceptable.
————-
The more acceptable it becomes to express violent, crass language against women in the public arena the more you can expect our country to fray at the seams.
————-
I’m not talking about attacks from bottom feeder leftist blogs either. Notable mainstream brands like the Miss USA Organization, “The Late Show” and Playboy magazine have all lost their sense of humor and their sense of decency by allowing conservative women to become a punching bag — and a punch line — for the left.
Watch Andrea Tantaros discuss this topic with America’s Newsroom Host Megyn Kelly:
Forgoing all boundaries, a party that once used to claim to own the violence against women issue has embraced it and let their politics run them when it comes to the issue of misogyny.
On its face, this isn’t even a political issue. It’s a women’s issue –- a human issue that transcends politics. But why, when it comes to the most serious and sensitive attacks against women the National Organization for Women spokeswoman warrants a missing person’s report?
Carrie Prejean was called the most offensive four and five letter words by Miss USA judge Perez Hilton’s after she expressed her traditional views on gay marriage. Was he scolded by one of the organization’s owners, Donald Trump? Hardly. Trump actually expressed willingness to allow Hilton to judge at next year’s competition.
And that’s just the beginning. Playboy magazine published a vile, incendiary list of conservative women it would like to engage in hate sex with, and it was only after public outcry that it pulled the article. Its response was watered down, to say the least. Where was that writer’s editor? (And that editor’s mind, moreover?) It doesn’t take an expert to know that the first stage of violence is thinking about it, then expressing it, then actually doing it.
David Letterman made a disgusting joke about Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s underage daughter and he didn’t stop there. He continued to make an off color joke about the Governor’s appearance making many want to invoke slaps but not against their knees.
Palin is apparently more popular than Letterman. Thanks to growing pressure from viewers Letterman offered — not one — but two — mea culpas. But where was CBS from the start? It was only after the public got involved that the comedian began to react with some seeming sincerity.
For the record, Palin should never appear on his show. Protests calling for his resignation should continue with a larger message to the general population and television executives everywhere: distasteful behavior against females will not be tolerated.
The United States, a champion for women’s rights throughout the world, will have a tough time wagging it’s finger at countries that are less than progressive in their attitudes toward women and crimes against women all over the world when we tolerate hate speak at the expense of the American female, for a few laughs or fame, no less.
The First Amendment protects free speech but there is no reason that we, as citizens and consumers, should buy it. When it comes to those who want to disrespect any woman, we can take it to their bottom line and not only speak out, but also boycott their business.
Violence against women is wrong, no matter what party affiliation, not to mention it’s just not funny. The more acceptable it becomes to express violent, crass language against women in the public arena the more you can expect our country to fray at the seams.

A few 'light reading' articles
First off....some news stories:
WHAT KIND OF SICK PEOPLE DO THIS??????????????? Of course a story such as this doesn't go too far off my 'bitch' chart but all the same...
Ok, now. If I recall during the whole presidential election hoopla, I seem to remember that Obama was deemed the savior? Maybe I'm wrong??? Either way, there has got to be a reason I remember that sort of thing but I just can't put my finger on it. So since then, what's happened???????
Last but not least....would this be a man doing this to a woman, would he be automatically labeled an abuser as well as an attempted rapist...as in do not pass go, do not collect $200???? While the wife can press charges or not, wouldn't a man be arrested, tried and thrown to the dogs for this??????? Just a curious question really.

Invasion
If a family wants to display their dead soldier to the world, take a photo and display it on the internet. That sounds VERY harsh and heartless and for that I apologize however, that this is even something that the president is CONSIDERING just upsets me....it is NOT our right to look at the coffins of men and women who have sacrificed for our lives. It is not our RIGHT to ogle the grief or to 'see what war does'. It is our right to say our silent prayers and hope for the safety of those who sacrifice so much for us!
Frankly, it's completely twisted that anyone would WANT to photograph such and 'event'.
And this is ok because?????????

Where are the screams and rages from those who believe so vehemently that displaying an effigy of Barack Obama is racist and disrespectful when my "favorite" group of animal lovers walks around in KKK garb?????? Huh, where are they?
Oh, I see, they're standing outside of the Westminster Dog Show.....

Warning: If you don't want to read a rant, go no further
Small children are especially susceptible to third-hand smoke exposure because they can inhale near, crawl and play on, or touch and mouth contaminated surfaces. Third-hand smoke can remain indoors even long after the smoking has stopped. Similar to low-level lead exposure, low levels of tobacco particulates have been associated with cognitive deficits among children, and the higher the exposure level, the lower the reading score. These findings underscore the possibility that even extremely low levels of these compounds may be neurotoxic and, according to the researchers, justify restricting all smoking in indoor areas inhabited by children. (emphasis mine)The fingers of the crusaders are slowly reaching into the privacy of our homes; your homes. With each dumb study a part of YOUR freedom is being ripped away. Another smoking study released and surprise, now we have third hand smoke. Hm. At what point will fourth hand smoke come into play and fifth, and sixth, and suddenly global warming is the smokers fault?
Smoking is the blame for an eye twitch it seems! And if you don't smoke and develop said eye twitch, well, it's because that person with the eye twicth may have walked past a person who just put out a cigarette. (hypothetical) Give me a break!
For me to help the cause that I see infringing upon the rights of every single American? Nope, I'm a rebel..the more they push the longer I'll smoke. If I want to choose to die a horrible death, it's inevitable already because ALL my life I've been exposed to second hand smoke, third hand smoke and hey....FIRST HAND SMOKE. And I'm going to die anyway so really, why shouldn't I be able to live my life how I want to? How I choose? Who are any of these people who wouldn't offer up a damn dime to help me quit if I asked them too...they would then tell me that it was my fault that I started therefore they won't help because I made that stupid choice. Are they SERIOUSLY doing it because they care about people or are they just doing it for the feel of a power trip??????
Hello people, you may hate smokers, you may hate the smell, it may disgust you beyond disgust but OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE THIS FOR WHAT IT WILL BE!!!!! I don't give a damn if people CHOOSE to smoke in their homes, in their cars, on their deck, in their beds...I DON'T CARE. I don't HAVE to agree with the way people CHOOSE to live but the beauty of that is it is still my choice to disagree and I am FREE to simply WALK away if I don't like it. Is that not what feet are for?
Simply put: BUTT OUT! (No pun or inside meaning intended)

Get the priorities straight
I posted once long ago on how gassy cows and moose contributed to global warming...blah, blah, blah....So today I'm skimming the headlines at Drudge and found this one, "Proposed fee on smelly cows, hogs angers farmers". After reading the article, it angers me a great deal.
Imposing such a thing on farmers would pretty much dry up many accounts for these hard working people who work harder than the idiots who want to make this happen! The EPA...I'm really growing to hate them as much as PETA!!!!! Sorry, I love the animals, I love the earth but there comes a time in this life where more critical things should be taken care of. After all, the earth isn't going to burn up over night! But people will die from frost bite because they have no job to pay for a home and food and are out on the street in this horribly cold weather that we have here right now!
But there's one thing that's being ignored here....it's the COWS that are causing the problems, these ranchers should be rewarded for taking their lives because in the end, the ranchers are the ones who are helping the environment by eliminating the problem!
How bout elephants? They're a large creature? I would bet they emit a lot of gasses too. Man, this could end up depleting one hell of an animal population in this country! What will they do with all the cows when all the cattle ranchers are bankrupt???? Perhaps letting the cows run free and having to herd them just when it's time for processing will ease the burden on the farmers, at least no one can say they own the animals anymore.
This country is already in an economic crisis with thousands of people out of jobs, companies going belly up and now this??? There are much more pressing needs that need some attention in this country than global friggin' warming! I'm really sorry but people are hungry, people are homeless, people are jobless...can you say morons?
