Another thing who should just shut their yap

Mr. William M. Arkin is at it again and people are none too happy with this anti-military, unpatriotic man who spews his filth.

The Arrogant and Intolerant Speak Out
Contrary to the typically inaccurate and overstated assertion in dozens of blogs, hundreds of comments, and thousands of e-mails I've received, I've never written that soldiers should "shut up," quit whining, be spit upon, or that they have no right to an opinion.
In his damning write up here are exerpts of what he really wrote:

But I also hope that military commanders took the soldiers aside after the story and explained to them why it wasn't for them to disapprove of the American people.

Sounds like Arkin believes the troops have no right to speak out about what all the bashing from the left is doing to them. Pretty cut and dry right there. That because they wear the uniforms and do whatever Bush tells them they don't have families, they don't have rights, and they don't care about anything other than killing. Or and they're ignorant and naive too.

Yesterday:

We don't see very many "baby killer" epithets being thrown around these days, no one in uniform is being spit upon.

He says that as though he's saying..."so nah!" Yet he neglects to realize that it does happen! It has happened, and that he has verbally spit on the soldiers with his own vitriol.

Todays vomit:

I said I was bothered by the notion that "the troops" were somehow becoming hallowed beings above society, that they had an attitude that only they had the means - or the right - to judge the worthiness of the Iraq endeavor.

vs. yesterdays vomit:

So, we pay the soldiers a decent wage, take care of their families, provide them with housing and medical care and vast social support systems and ship obscene amenities into the war zone for them, we support them in every possible way, and their attitude is that we should in addition roll over and play dead, defer to the military and the generals and let them fight their war, and give up our rights and responsibilities to speak up because they are above society?

I don't recall ever seeing or talking to a soldier with the mentality that we should roll over and play dead and treat them like they're God. In fact, they are very humble human beings unlike this guy. And is it a problem for Arkin that there are all of these things being shipped to the troops? After all, they only sleep on bug infested dirt or swallow dust all day long, or are constantly on the alert for someone or something approaching them with a bomb. So what, they're just bombs..no big deal right Arkin?

I could nitpick this crap all day long but you all get the point. This guy...I won't even say it. Click on the links below for some great reading.
