A plea from this public school

I posted awhile back about Germany and how they're going after homeschoolers. Is this sort of thing just over the horizon in America?

Board president makes appeal to homeschoolers

Perhaps if the public schools didn't find it their right to take liberties with our children there wouldn't be this problem. If the schools wouldn't exclude the parents from decisions and listen more to the parents, this wouldn't be a problem. Perhaps if the schools would stop attacking this religion or that religion this wouldn't be a problem. Perhaps if the schools showed a little respect this wouldn't be a problem...and I could go on and on and on with this.

If parents want to teach their own children that is their right. The parents are still paying taxes for these schools regardless of whether or not the school is getting that financial boost from the kids being enrolled. In our state, the average worth of a child in the public schools is $9000 per year...that is per kid!

If the schools would stop putting money in all their special programs or updates to keep up with the jones' there wouldn't be a need for this plea.

Sorry, I have no sympathy for a public school system that I have had more than my share of problems with.
