couple of things...

Whewhooo! I have a second interview on Thursday. I am ecstatic! Now if I can exude the confidence..er...nervousness that I did last week, I might just have a shot!

The party plans are going along great. The kids are coming home each day telling me this person and that person are coming. This person will help scare in the woods...so far all is good. The weather of course has been much less than pleasant but rain or shine this year this party is going to happen.

On Sunday we worked hard in the woods, got some decorations up and go figure, it's been raining since. So now I have to redo some things. The girls have been helping me bake all the goodies and it's all running smoothly. We have some 'scary' plans this year and only hope that we can pull it off.

For some Halloween is evil, bad, and all about demonic things. Sorry folks but here Halloween is just a fun 'holiday' that we all love to celebrate and an excuse to be goofy. When I look around on Halloween night and see wee one's dressed as pumpkins or puppies or princess', how on earth could I see it as evil??? Candy is a plenty and it's a way in which communities come together and do things with their kids.

Of course we have to check the kids' candy, that is just a given but ultimately, it's about giving and all about the kids! For my older ones, these parties provide them with some pretty great memories. Our last one, my brother pulled a doosie...he got here a little later at night, after all the kids had been through the woods three or four times and were bored. He came out of nowhere in a jason mask and a revving chain saw and the kids scattered like crazy and screaming. The laughs? I was doubled over laughing so hard as I had a perfect view of the cliches standing around calmly talking then suddenly they were all running. Funniest thing in the world. And the end result? A whole bunch of kids who had a great time and want to do it again.

The thrill of being scared is a weird thrill but at the same time, many people, kids, love it all the same...
