The End of this bout of bad luck!

Thursday, August 11, 2005

Wow, in looking at my archives, I have been really neglecting my journal this month. Maybe too much stress, maybe no time, maybe I'm spending too much time pondering my next post. MAYBE, MAYBE, MAYBE.

Well, a little tiny update on things in our life. We have as of today, hatched 40 monarch caterpillars into butterflies. 4 are in the cage waiting to be released. Of those 40, only two have had crippled wings and still my son brings in an average of 3 baby caterpillars per day. I fear we will be hatching these things for a very long time. Ironically, we received his welcome letter for 1st grade and the children are to bring in a monarch caterpillar for a science project. My daughter said we should just bring in the whole cage and I just might have to do that. Man they poop alot.

Pat starts a new job on Monday. He turned down the Managing Editor position as they wanted to pay him something that only a single man could live off of or maybe not even. He had another lined up just in case. This one installing satellite dishes for Direct TV. If this man that he is in contact with isn't making up stories, well, we could actually have lots of money. We'll see.

Unfortunately, the guy who was going to buy our truck and throw in the motorcycle, well, he strung us along for a week, him and Pat worked for 2 hours to get this motorcycle cleaned up and running, and in the end, this guy decided that he was not going to part with the motorcycle as he got it running and also that he didn't want the truck. It was like a punch in the stomach and WWIII broke out amongst our kids and us. Not a very good night but overall, we solved some discipline issues with our kids who have been taking advantage of our down and outedness and running miles with it.

But, all is good. My daycare, well, on that same day, one of the parents with 2 kids, chose another daycare, but that is to be expected, the other was supposed to start last Tuesday earlier hours than my contract states, and hasn't been here once since. Oh, the mother has called to let me know that she was 'sick' but really, I hold a different view on that one. She was one of my old clients a couple of years ago and it dawned on me after the 2nd no show why I had gotten rid of her in the first place.

Well, I told her two days ago that I cannot do daycare for her, I had been getting up 2 hours earlier to accomdate her and she never showed, so I said adios! In the end, she was fired from her job yesterday so no skin off my back. She is just not a very responsible person. But I started daycare for a little boy, pudgy, bald, and very spoiled who is quickly becoming my friend. It always takes a week or two for adjustments but he is doing just great. He is 3 1/2 months old.

So, here it is, the next leg of our journey. There is never a dull moment in our lives and I mean NEVER. Each day brings some form of unwelcomed news. I honestly don't think Pat and I would know what to do without all our tainted luck. I think we might end up crazy or something. Although I am sure some may think we already are.....but one thing is for sure, Crazy in Love conquers ALL evil, I don't care what anyone says.

Thanks to all of you again and maybe one of our butterflies will come visit you. They all look so much alike but look for the ones that fly erratically, they have endured our roller coaster ride so might be some what dizzy. Ok, that was silly but really, thanks again!!!!!!!!!Written by louie0768 .
