This is just insane!!!! What was this 'so-called mother' thinking? That she was making pot roast?
Oh, maybe it will be she was hiding the baby and didn't realize the oven was on!
Some of the things over the years that have just baffled me is the actions of mothers towards their kids. I read an article not too long ago about a mom who authorities suspected, put her baby in a microwave. The baby's insides were burned, that's the only thing they could conclude. I don't have the link to that one anymore..I was going to post on it but it just made me sick to think about.
Or the mom who threw her three kids off the bridge because God told her to make a sacrifice? What's worse about this particular case:
"According to her lawyer, Harris was placed in a psychiatric hospital six times between February 2004 and August 2005, and her mother warned a social worker that she would hurt her children. But the social worker didn't believe her, Caffese said."
What 'God' would tell a person to kill her children? And if this mother was in and out of the psychiatric hospital 6 times in a year and a half, shouldn't that trigger an excalated watch of this parent by the social worker? One would think so.
I just don't get society these days. There is so much 'mental illness' around now and it's used incessantly in court cases such as these to get a lighter sentence for the ailing mother. And the sympathy of that mother vs. the dead children....it's as bad as all the sympathy in the world for the abused puppy but the dead baby receives none.
Feeling a bit frustrated today I guess!
