Being human is unacceptable!

I am a strong advocate for breastfeeding. It is a NATURAL thing to do, more healthy for the baby, and an all around bonding experience for the mother and child.

I do grow tired of listening to and reading stories of those who seem to have phobias about breastfeeding mothers but this one I just read really upsets me.

Most people coo, ooh and aww over a momma dog or cat nursing her 6 or so babies all at one time. "Oh look how that one is fighting this one for a teat!, They are soooooo cuuuuuuyat!" But bring in a nursing mom with her human baby and people are up in arms. What is wrong with that picture!!!!!

Look around at billboards people. More skin is shown there then there is on a nursing mom who in most cases is pretty discreet! Apparently human babies are not supposed to eat or something?

On a side note, hubby had reported on a three month old baby a few months ago who was MURDERED by his father, just miles from our house. A very disturbing case and I hope the father fries for it!

Anyway, within a week or so of that story, there was also a story about some very young children who kicked/beat a puppy to death--6 and 7 year old boys to be exact. That too was very disturbing and sad and I wondered where the parents were in their lives for them to do something so horrible.

So, in my mind, all I cared about during all of the weeks to follow is the case of this baby. When they were going to nail this guy to the wall, growing frustrated with the fact that the cops were waiting for the right moment to nab the father. How many people inquired about this poor little baby?????? A single person.

The puppy????? Phone was ringing off the hook, comments and letters to the editor a plenty. Oh, and lets not forget that there were letters saying that these little boys--humans--should be placed in a mine field in Iraq for what they did to this puppy.???!!! Oh and there were other horrible consequences these boys should have faced as well. I was incredulous.

What is wrong with that?

Incidently, the father of the baby has been arrested and facing some pretty serious charges.

As far as what happened to the boys? I don't really know, my loyalty lies with the life of a human first. I have nothing against animals, in fact we have many walking the floors of our home and I adore them all. I just have different priorities than some, forgive me!
