CORKY
It's official as of 1:30 yesterday, we have a new member in our family. The name that we have decided on is Corky, the Y names were just too weird. I have caught myself calling him Querkie Corky the Dorky Yorkie. He is just one of those dogs that is all feet and will fall on his face for no reason.
Since our yard is very hilly and there isn't a level spot to be found, this has proven to add a lot of entertainment value to our bathroom breaks. Last night Corky was getting all situated to do his thing, on a hill I might add, and wound up doing a backwards somersault down the hill, quickly resuming his position as if nothing occurred. He has rolled down too many times to count and is very unstable. We have all gotten quite a few chuckles out of it.
He has problems getting up the steps and today decided that he would take a different approach. He went under our deck. We built this deck over the concrete steps that we had before....long story. Anyway, Corky decided that these steps were much more compatible to his small size and climbed them. He found himself in a predicament, he couldn't get down. It took a few minutes but I finally got him to jump down. He stood there looking at me whimpering as if I should crawl underneath this deck, full of spiders and cobwebs, and rescue him. Man, where is my son when I need him!!!! I would do most things to save an animal but knowing that he has jumped down a couple of larger steps as well as off the bed and couches already, I wasn't about to give him his way. That is just expecting a little to much coddling. LOL
He loves the kids and they of course adore him. He has been carried around pretty much all day long and is going to be spoiled rotten. What more is to be expected though. Of course I know that his little pony tail shouldn't exist but it helps keep the hair out of his eyes. I have already received endless amounts of grief from my kids and Pat about it and they worry about Corky's identity crisis however, I once knew a man that I have loved for a long time who wore ponytails. Maybe I can find a little puppy bandana or something that suits a male better. At least I haven't painted his toenails!!!!!
He is a sweet little guy, and amazingly, very quiet and mellow. He cried for all of 30 seconds last night for bed time. Brooks and Reggie are very unsure of him. Reggie, well he nipped at the little guy last night and poor Corky yipped and cried. Reggie got put outside and reprimanded for that behavior and seems to have gotten the message. Although he still ignores him as much as he can.
Brooks has been stealing moments with me when he can and laying by my feet as much as possible. Poor guys, they feel so rejected yet it is really all in their head.
So, as promised, here is a photo and the name revealed. Although getting the photo was near impossible. I already think the dog has ADD (attention deficit disorder), he just cannot sit still for nothing, he has always got to be walking around somewhere.
I hope you enjoy as much as we have been.
