Whew...

Well.....

Here I am with not much to write but I'll do it anyway. An update on our daughter's doctor visit.
Bottom line? Still no solid answer. We are once again waiting on results.

We went to the pediatrician yesterday...man, she just had no sense of humor at all. Our oldest daughter is full of spunk and just as off the cuff as Pat and myself around strangers. I think we like to shock people with our sense of humor. Anyway, another examination was performed and nothing was found. We talked about the blood work from the clinic and this doc seemed just as perplexed as the others. Should I be surprised? Well, no but all the same, it would have been nice if she at least could have said that this was just some normal teenage occurance.

So, our daughter gave more blood. They are testing her for mono, something called CMV which I found about 2 weeks ago on-line, tuberculosis, and a couple of other things. The doc is leaning towards mono, man would that ever be good news however, mono is contagious. Our daughters boyfriend is not sick so my hopes are somewhat dashed in that dept. but still hopeful. The CMV thing, well, from what I read, it was the one thing that I mentioned to Pat as a possibility and it isn't really horrible but it is a burdensome thing for our girl, or could be. I didn't read too thouroughly though because I didn't want to make a mountain until I knew that that mole hill would be squashed.

So by tomorrow or Monday we should receive a call about her results. If mono is not the diagnosis, our next step is to get an appointment with an infectious disease specialist. From there I just don't have any answers. One step at a time. But at this point, it is nothing that we should be too concerned about....(yeah, whatever)

Do I like living in the dark when it comes to my kids? Hell no but this is the best we can get for now. I want to thank all of you out there who have showed such care and concern and for your wonderful support. It truly means the world to Pat and myself and does not go unnoticed.

In talking to a friend via email, we have discussed what a wonderful thing this internet is, how it is good therapy, how people reach out to each other in times of need. How that couldn't be more true. I have met some really great people out there in the world and somehow those people have made a great impact on my daily thoughts. What a feeling it is to be able to be as cranky as I want or as mushy as I want but you still continue to come back for more. Man, you are all a glutton....

THANK YOU to all my regulars, you are all absolutely wonderful!
