What is wrong with the courts in this country?

Well, I must remain fair and true to my rantings and throw in the male teacher-gripe-of the week entry.

I have had it up to my neck with all the stories of female teachers raping, molesting or whatever to their young students. I have seen many articles about men who do the same. Maybe I complain more about women because I am a woman and a woman should really live up to a certain standard. Yes, men should too but my line of thinking on that one is that women who go after young men in a society where it's 'okay-to-do-it-with-a-boy-because-that-is-every-boy's fantasy' mentality is the very reason why many women look at men who ogle them and call them scum or pigs. Right? They are the first to spout off at the mouth about what pigs men are for ogling them and looking at them as sex objects but what is a woman called when she ogles a man? I guess I don't really know the answer to that because men don't seem to give it a second thought. **shrug** Perhaps some of you men out there could tell me what you think when a woman ogles you????

Now, this man, receives no prison time for the rape of one of his teenage students.

"Gregory Pathiakis, 26, of Brockton, Mass., pleaded guilty yesterday to one count of rape of a child, enticement of a child under 16, five counts of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of harmful material to a child, according to the Enterprise newspaper of Brockton, Mass."

"Prosecutors asked Brockton Superior Court Judge Suzanne V. Delvecchio to give Pathiakis four to eight years in state prison, followed by five years probation. But she issued a suspended, 2 1/2-year jail term, followed by five years probation."

To myself, this seems like a tap on the wrist for ruining a boys life in a most vile way. But that is just my opinion I guess. Sure, the man has to register as a sex offender and is banned from any work or activities involving children...ooooh, that must just really be a harsh punishment. So what if his livelihood is now gone, so what if the poor pedophile cannot work around kids. What about justice for his illegal actions? What about justice for this family and their 15-year old son? What about right and wrong.

Ok, as I read this, closed the window, I scrolled just inches down the news page, World Net Daily, and found this headline:

"Wendy's finger scammers get 9, 12 years"

How is extorting money more serious than extorting the very innocence of a child? No, don't get me wrong, I do not have any problem with this couple getting prison terms for their heinous act of grotesque childish business ruining antics! They deserve every year they get. Although I give them credit for the years most desireable way to ruin one's taste for Wendy's chili. Poor Wendy's.

A woman gets six months for 'having sex' with a boy and as the headline says, 'gay rapist' gets no prison time. A couple plants a finger in a pretty popular fast food joints chili and they get 9 and 12 years. It's pretty tough to comprehend such an ass backward system.

On a side note: My father once cut the tip his finger off with his table saw when I was about 17 years old. Him and Pat laughed about it as he asked me if I wanted some extra meat for dinner that night, he said it was out on the workbench in the garage.
